According to the Zohar the “purpose” of the Binding of Isaac is that the Divine flows of compassion represented by Abraham (silvery-white color) will reach perfection and harmony by being bound with the Divine Justice that Isaac symbolizes(red color). The beauty of this interpretation is its emotional sobriety and abnegation of sacrifice and victimhood, yet it asks us if we in our own private narrative perceive ourselves as victims.
